Not only does anger consume you, at times to the point where you cannot be awake without getting upset all over again at your most recent stimulus, but it also can become who you are. Anger builds a foundation upon which hate can develop and hate, in turn, breeds intolerance and greed, which were the cornerstones of Mankind’s weakest moments- the Holocaust, Slavery and the list goes on.
We are often surrounded by anger from the very beginning and naturally we become products of our environment. I personally can attest to that – anger can make you stab to death the love of your life, render you unable to focus on responsibilities or enjoy personal triumphs, or even cause you to sever ties with important people around you.
Anger definitely robs you of the finer things in life- family, friends, prosperity and of course peace of mind. It is only when you find something to fill the vessel that is your life that anger is truly displaced- that something may be a new relationship, success in a field of endeavour or the love of God. Whatever the source, this ‘thing’ that fills you up ensures that there is no longer room for the abomination that is anger.
One can never truly appreciate life if anger forms part of you, I see that clearly now and I hope that you can too. Trust me, when you find a wholesome replacement for anger the sky looks a little clearer, your goals seem a little closer and hugs feel a little better! When you are angry you are weak and vulnerable, anger muddles your mind and confuses the spirit. Regardless of how right you may think you are, its never better to be right and angry than to be wrong and forgiven. To forgive is to love, anger is a barrier to love and love is a light to your life, thus anger is Mankind’s greatest vice.
